This fall the Shreveport Bar Association is sponsoring my Don’t Let This Be You program in the city high schools.  I will present the program – along with colleagues Ron Stamps, Herbert Stamps and Carlos Prudhomme – on Friday mornings in assembly format.  For details, review the following document which is being distributed to all Shreveport high schools.

The Shreveport Bar Association’s Speakers Bureau is Sponsoring
an Important Program for All Shreveport High School Students

We want to assist principals, teachers, parents and students to get the new school year
off to a good start by providing critical information that all teenagers should know.

Judge Scott Crichton will present a program entitled Don’t Let This Be You for teenagers on
Fridays from August through December 2009.  The dynamic PowerPoint program covers
legal concepts and consequences of criminal behavior which teenagers should know.

The program focuses on the new law regarding drug possession and spin‐off crimes related
to drug addiction, the law regarding teenage sex and its legal consequences, which in
includes paternity and child support, the legal perils of “sexting”, and more.

There will be numerous “real life” local cases, now adjudicated and final, to stress the
importance of teenagers knowing the law and taking accountability for their actions.

Enclosed is a DVD with more information regarding the Don’t Let This Be You program.
You can also visit Judge Crichton’s website at www.dontletthisbeyou.org for more
information.

We’ll contact you to discuss scheduling this program at your school this fall.  If you have
questions or if you are ready to book your date, please contact Dana at the Shreveport Bar
Association office at 222‐3643 or dsouthern@shreveportbar.com.
